Purpose This submission proposes a strategic partnership between your school and School Safety Solutions to provide Grade 8 to Grade 12 learners with:
Enhancing Learner Career Readiness through School Safety Solutions
(a) Essential workplace certifications
We have developed three courses suitable for school leavers, or so-called job seekers, with the aim to provide essential workplace safety training and the consequential enrichment of the learner’s Curriculum Vitae. The courses are aligned with recognized HWSETA standards and course attendees are issued with a competency certificate when they master the course content. The five session online course costs R3975.00 per person.
There are three courses available:
- Workplace Safety applicable to offices, factories, warehouses, micro businesses and workplaces in general.
- Agricultural Worker Safety for persons wanting to enter farming environments, whether scaled or subsistence farming.
- Child Caregiver or Au Pair Safety and General Principles which informs and guides the novice caregiver, also provides essential work templates.
These courses are designed to bridge the gap between secondary education and the professional world by empowering students with the "response-ability" (the ability and duty to take action) required in modern industries.
(b) Individual career direction, including essential school subject selection
We have partnered with Dr. Kobus Neethling, a renowned professional who specializes in personal development and alignment with one’s strengths. This focus will assess and support the learner’s natural approach to task, environment, and people. This is also referred to as “preferred thinking style and preferred approach to work and inter-action”.
These insights, once determined, serve to guide subject and career choice which are aligned with the learner’s preferred operational thinking style, leading to job satisfaction and consequential success.
Supporting the Grade 8 and 9 Learner
- Assessment of learner’s brain and thinking preferences for subject choices
- Assessment of learner’s brain and thinking preferences for career choices
- Written report and optional interview or Q&A session with learner and parent
- Optional: Review and advise on the current career options identified by learner and parent
- Cost: R1290.00 per learner or group discount of 34% for 10 or more learners
- The interview session and considering of current options for study direction and career has a combined additional cost of R750.00
Supporting the Grade 10 to 12 Learner
- Understanding brain and thinking preferences for tertiary education choices
- Understanding brain and thinking preferences for career choices
- Review and advise on the current career options identified by learner and parent
- Written report and optional interview or Q&A session with learner and parent
- Cost: R1290.00 per learner or group discount of 34% for 10 or more learners
- The interview session and considering of current options for study direction and career has a combined additional cost of R350.00

Choosing school subjects and career paths can be a daunting process for learners. Our resources provide a strategic framework to help students navigate these decisions based on the personal thinking preference determined during the assessment process.
The Three Essential School Leaver Courses School Safety Solutions offers three distinct tracks to enrich a student's Curriculum Vitae and professional value:
- Workplace Safety (General): This foundational course provides an overview of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993). It covers universal workplace requirements, including safety signage, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and emergency evacuation protocols, safety responsibilities including observation and reporting, making the learner a valuable asset to any employer.
HWSETA Unit Standard 259604 and 244283
Course Duration: 05 Online Sessions of 90 minutes each, two week period
Assessment: Written Assessment
Certification: Yes
- Agricultural Safety and Risk Management: Aimed at students entering the primary sector, this course covers high-risk areas such as machine safety (tractors and harvesters), chemical handling (MSDS), and zoonotic diseases. It instils a moral and legal duty to protect the environment and manage the "intrinsic risks" of farming.

Course Duration: 05 Online Sessions of 90 minutes each, two week period

- Essential Safety for Child Caregivers (Au Pair): This course prepares students for the weighty responsibility of child wellbeing. It covers the Child Safety Cycle, paediatric first aid (CPR and choking), and positive discipline techniques. It positions the caregiver as the child's "Pre-Frontal Cortex"—the reasoning shield for vulnerable minors.

CV Enrichment and Professionalism A key objective of these courses is to enhance and expand the school leaver’s Curriculum Vitae. Beyond mere certification, these programs teach:
- Accountability: Students learn they are liable for their actions and omissions, a trait highly valued by employers.
- Administrative Diligence: Learners are trained to manage professional records, such as Safety Binders and incident registers, ensuring they can demonstrate "due diligence" in any future role.
- Professional Ethics: The courses emphasize a "Code of Conduct" and the importance of following lawful orders and safety regulations.
